Beau has created a visual narrative of women's lives...those issues which women have dealt with for centuries. Issues such as war and occupation, of depression and domestic violence, of rape, kidnapping and murder. These issues are issues which our mothers and grandmothers, our aunts and cousins, our sisters and daughters and friends have dealt with through their own personal strength, valor, tenacity and courage.
But Beau has shifted her commentary work to focus on the reality of womanhood. It is the issues of the mature women, of body positivity and empowerment, the moments of joy and wonderment and the concept of masking to explore the degree to which women reveal or obscure themselves as they navigate the world. This is a closer look at the struggle, strength, vulnerability and community of the female experience.
